DARTMOUTH COLLEGESenior Writer, Administration and Advancement Arts & Sciences Development OfficeDartmouth seeks a versatile and talented writer to join the Dean of Faculty/Arts & Sciences Development Office. The Senior Writer will collaborate with colleagues in the Dean of Faculty division and in Development to write and edit stewardship and other donor-focused correspondence for the Dean, other academic administrators, and faculty, and to prepare event-related remarks, presentations and reports in a variety of formats that convey important themes as outlined by the Dean and other academic administrators. In addition, the senior writer will research, analyze and synthesize information about Arts & Sciences' endowed programs, initiatives, current-use funds, and other projects into content that advances Dartmouth's institutional priorities. The Senior Writer will bring at least five years of professional experience in stewardship-writing in an academic setting or related field, such as communications, preferably in higher education or its equivalent. Exceptional writing and editing skills are critical as well as creativity, initiative, team orientation, and client-focus. Demonstrated analytical, critical and strategic thinking skills are required. The successful candidate must have the ability to organize, set priorities, and manage several projects at once, with minimal supervision. Adaptability and willingness and capacity to "turn on a dime" when priorities change is essential, along with an ability to write in different voices and styles and adjust forms of communication for various constituencies. Education must include a bachelor's degree, preferably in English, journalism, or a related field or the equivalent.
